Kuwait, 11 May 2022: Founded by Her Excellency Sheikha Ohoud Salem Al Ali Al Sabah, in collaboration with Ms. Riham Al Ayyar, VO launched today Kuwait’s first talent-based and experiential master academy called the ‘VO Institute’. The launching event also celebrated the academy’s agreement with UNICEF that aims to nurture and develop talented youth in Kuwait
In the presence of UNICEF Representative to the Gulf Area, Mr. Eltayeb Adam, and the UN Resident Coordinator to the State of Kuwait, Dr. Tarek Elsheikh, VO Kuwait brought together inspiring Kuwaiti speakers and influencers at the launching event. They shared their personal and professional journeys in ‘TEDx’ style talks to highlight the hidden capacities and successful stories of Kuwaiti youth to international entities.
“We are targeting a generation that will move our nation from ‘what is’ to ‘what will be’. We must prepare our homegrown talents and equip them with the necessary tools to help them integrate Kuwait in a global market that is currently building space hotels and going beyond any physical or environmental limits. This cannot be achieved through the traditional academic experience. We are therefore launching today the third main pillar of VO Kuwait, which is the VO Institute ,” stated Her Excellency Sheikha Ohoud Al Sabah, Chairperson of VO.
VO Kuwait reported that it has signed various collaboration agreements with local, regional, and international entities to provide talent-based academic master classes to Kuwaiti youth, and practically prepare Kuwait’s upcoming workforce for the future global market. The recent collaboration announced was with UNICEF, which focuses on an upcoming programme that will support Kuwait’s entrepreneurial talents.
“Kuwait’s global professional and economic brand will depend on its workforce standards and qualifications. To build a brand for Kuwait in the global marketplace, our country’s professional talents and upcoming workforce should reflect Kuwait’s envisioned global position. The VO Institute is another untraditional and practical channel of VO that will infuse our talents with what is required to achieve this vision. Through talent-based and experiential master classes and internationally supported programs, the VO Institute will achieve this mission,” explained Riham Al Ayyar, CEO of VO.
In addition to the academic field, VO is providing opportunities for Kuwaiti talents to influence the global market in other fields such as sports, culinary arts, entertainment, media and film, and content creation.
Its recent breakthrough talent development project for Kuwaiti athletes happened in the presence of Brazilian former professional footballer, Roberto Carlos. This is where VO agreed with the Genova International School of Soccer to host Kuwaiti talented amateur soccer players to be professionally trained at Rayo Vallecano De Madrid, Madrid’s professional soccer team.
For Kuwait’s culinary talents, VO Kuwait created the VO MADE to develop an ecosystem that aims to stimulate Kuwait’s food industry and culinary tourism. Additionally, various entertainment, film, and docudrama series were produced by VO bringing together renowned and amateur Kuwaiti talents to put them on the forefront of regional and international media. Currently, VO is also capitalizing on its recently signed agreement with the Association of Small Medium Enterprises in Kuwait, ASMEK, and other programs targeting Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to support their efforts and work.
The ‘smart’ app of VO Kuwait, which is a non-profit subscription-based mobile application, showcases all the content and projects produced by Kuwaiti talents and exhibits the exceptional talents through high-tech production systems and qualified teams of creators, producers, directors, writers, and many more. VO reported that the app will be the main tech platform provided to the global, regional, and national community so they can experience the unleashed creativity and exceptional talents of Kuwaiti youth through the projects, initiatives, and content showcased on the app.
Founded in July 2020, VO nurtures and supports Kuwaiti talents aiming to position them in the global market. VO provides Kuwaiti youth with innovative avenues for developing and exhibiting their talents to the international community. The platform includes a talent development academic program, multiple all-inclusive studios, and seamless, high-tech and efficient mobile application.
